General:
When I started my family of three in the early seventies, I, like many became increasingly disturbed by the built-up of nuclear weapons and the antagonism between the Capitalist and Communist super powers. I searched to find a new “ism” that might bring the two together. I failed, but in the process I found a way to eliminate poverty through the creation of full employment, which had the potential to unite humanity economically and politically, and it held the promise for World Peace. I launched the idea in 1984 at a large gathering of Members of Parliament, Senators, and other dignitaries in Dublin, Ireland. It got some publicity at the time (see Irish Times article) and was forgotten shortly afterwards.
Down through the years I sent the document to Presidents, Prime Ministers and to many others, including to every Permanent UN Representative in New York and Geneva who represented each Nation of the world. In the year 2000 I sent the document to Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations, I received a reply from Mr. John Langmore, a Director of the United Nations (see his letter) saying the document was valuable and encouraged me to promote it.
And I continued to promote it, within my very limited means, at a number of Peace Conferences around the World, including 7th, 8th and 9th International Conference of the Chief Justices of the World, in Lucknow, India, in 2006, 2007 & 2008.
Capitalism as it exists today is a remnant of the primitive slave/master relationship where one dominates over the other, leading to all sorts of problems including the existing Global Economic/Unemployment Crisis, it leads to war, poverty and to every kind of misery. It is not a system; it is rather the lack of a system, based on the primitive concept of might in right, and the age-old natural process of the survival of the fittest. We need, and we will have a system of Ethical Capitalism, based on our higher nature, where all are protected.
I am totally and completely confident that soon, my children, and now my four grandchildren and everyone else in the world, will see the birth of a new civilisation based on justice, unity and peace. Photo
